We’re really excited about our new-in swimwear this season and all the beautiful prints!
If you didn’t know, we have an in-house print design team who hand draw prints across the departments at Yours.
Stacie, our print designer, has given us an insight into the print process at Yours, her favourite recent prints and a sneak peek into upcoming prints for summer!

What’s the process behind creating a new print for Yours?
“After looking at the biggest trends for the season, I will then sit down with the buyers from each department, and we talk through research we’ve both brought and then start to build up a story of prints for each trend, keeping our customer in mind.
Once these have been agreed we work on each print choosing a medium that suits the print best.
We start with either hand drawing, painting or digitally drawing on an iPad, I then use a software on the computer to make any edits or colour changes needed.
After approval from the buyers, to make a seamless process ready to send off and be printed onto fabric, the factory then sends a strike off to the buyers for them to approve colour before going to bulk and receiving a sample.”
What is your favourite print you have recently designed?
“One of my favourite prints I’ve recently designed is a blue tile print for swimwear as this was hand painted with watercolour inks and it was really fun to do, its also so nice to see the watercolour effect come back on the fabric.”
What was the inspiration behind this print?
“The inspo behind this print was Portuguese Azulejo tiles, many buildings are decorated inside and outside with these blue and white tiles, they can tell stories about history, religion and culture all with different decorations and patterns, I created a mood board of images before I started to work on the print.”
How does it feel seeing your designs go from ideas to being in stores and worn by customers?
“As well as getting to draw and be creative most days, this is one of my favourite things about my job. The prints really come to life on fabric and I will always love knowing someone has picked that design to wear and I love seeing how they chose to wear or style it.”
What is your favourite print from the latest swimwear?
“It’s one of the simpler ones we designed, but it has such a big impact, it’s a black and white ikat-inspired print and is being used on a few different products across swim and beachwear and it looks really fun when worn together.”
Can you give us a sneak peek of new prints coming up for summer?
“For the second hit for swimwear, we have some really cool leopard prints dropping which is such a key print for this year.”
