How To Host A Home Festival

22/04/2020

back to blog

As we head into Festival season it’s hard not to get a bit disheartened that our favourite annual festivals might be cancelled or postponed. Whether it’s Glastonbury, Bestival or Secret Garden Party, events all across the country are being affected. So why not recreate it at home? (as best you can!).

Bring the festival you’ve been longing to go to, to your back garden or living room! You might not have all your gal pals with you, but there’s so many ways you can get everyone involved and embrace that summer festival feeling… we’ll tell you how.

Build A Tipi

Nothing says ‘festival’ quite like a Tipi does. The perfect placet place to sit down and chill out, make sure to fill it with bright colourful cushions and blankets and don’t forget to round it off with pretty bunting too!

Live Stream An Old Concert Or Festival Playlist

A festival isn’t the same without music. So get yourself in the mood and stream an old concert or the highlights from a previous favourite festival. You could even set up a festival playlist on Spotify with all of your favourite music, this way you can share it with friends and family too. Plus, if you’re looking for some inspo, our Festival Playlist is definitely one to take a look at:

FaceTime Family & Friends

Okay, so they may not be able to be with you right now, but that doesn’t mean your family and friends can’t get involved in all the fun too! Get on Facetime, crack open the prosecco and share your favourite playlists with eachother… *Cheers*

Have A BBQ

Dancing all day under the sun is going to make us work up an appetite. And what better way to refuel than with a BBQ? I mean, it might not be AS good as the food stalls we are use to at festivals, but it will do, and you can cook exactly what you like! We’re drooling already…

Sleep Outdoors

And it doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. If you’re one for camping at festivals, then why not do it at home too? Use this time to embrace the great outdoors and pitch up your tent in the garden. Just think, sitting watching the sun set and lying back stargazing – we think there’s no better way than to reflect on the day. But if your bed is calling, then that’s okay too!

Get Dressed Up

We’ve all been looking for an opportunity to get dressed up, and here it is! From flower power to rock chick and boho appeal, whatever your festival look is, it’s time to get shopping. We’ve put together a few of our favourite outfits to give you a little bit of inspo – enjoy!

And now, it’s time for the main event. It’s time to let your inner raver out and embrace bright neon colour palettes. Think vibrant neon dresses or t-shirts teamed with cycling shorts and hoop earrings.

Power to the florals, whether it’s ditsy florals or bold tropical prints. You can’t go wrong with an elegant floral dress accompanied with a washed denim jacket – and don’t forget the sunnies!

If your festival style is more grunge then think all things distressed. Create ultimate edge with choker necks and ripped denim, rounded off with studded accessories and buckled sandals.
